The paradox of following up more times

Apr 03, 2025

You know what's ironic about following up with prospects?

It's that you find your best clients by following up more.

Notice - you don't just get MORE clients by following up more times. You also get HIGHER-QUALITY clients by following up more times.

Because these are the people who test you a bit. They make you SHOW them that you are a quality person by showing your consistency & resilience.

And the most ideal clients respect those traits - in fact, they ARE the best clients because they also have those same characteristics. They understand the grind/hustle.

I post this because I randomly just followed up with a prospect a few hours ago who was very opposed back in January, but I clearly articulated a relevant use case of how our software + services could work within his existing marketing plan, and he immediately became receptive.

Plus, follow ups are often about timing, and people DO change their mind, so just because they said no in the past doesn't mean they'll say no now.

So if you want the low-hanging fruit (lower quality clients), reach out 1-2 times to a prospect. You'll get some clients that way, but those are the ones who are most likely to churn.

But if you want the most ideal clients, keep following up with them for months/years. Consistent follow up is how to build a real, sustainable business.
