This is a hot take, but I personally think that financial advisors should lead with their personality as a selling point when reaching out to prospective clients—not their fees, products, or services (which is what most advisors focus on).

Because, at the end of the day, people choose you as their advisor when...

  • They feel comfortable with YOU.
  • They feel like they can trust YOU.
  • And they enjoy talking to YOU + spending time with YOU.

There are a lot of financial advisors out there.

But there aren’t many who are HIGHLY personable.

Trust me - I've met thousands of FAs over the past 5 years a lot of them are either not personable, not reliable, or (unfortunately) they're both of these.

If you are both likable AND trustworthy, you're a special breed of human.
